Mexico: a tourist creates controversy by swaying on a Mayan temple

A 29-year-old Spanish tourist sparked controversy in Mexico earlier this week for climbing the UNESCO-listed temple of Chichen Itza, an ancient Mayan city in Yucatán, and filming herself dancing on top.

This ancient Mayan city was voted in 2007 as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Its pyramid of Kukulcán, 30 meters high and 68 meters wide, was built between the 9th and 12th centuries.
