More acts in the night after shots at the rabbi's house

In the case of the shots at the former rabbi's house in Essen, the police are now investigating, according to Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU), two other crimes in the Ruhr area in a "close temporal connection".

There had already been an arrest, Reul said on Friday in the state parliament's interior committee.

Düsseldorf/Essen – Accordingly, the Dortmund police are now also investigating.

Reul did not provide any further information about the crime scenes in the public part of the interior committee meeting.

There are facts "related to Jewish objects at three different locations in the Ruhr area," says Reul.

Reul did not provide any information about the arrested person.

It remained unclear whether the suspect could be responsible for all three acts or whether he had accomplices.

According to Reul, both the police in Essen and the police in Dortmund have each used a special organizational structure (BAO) with more than 100 officers.

The Attorney General (GBA) will be kept up to date.

So far, the investigations are with the Attorney General in Düsseldorf.
