The Brazilians Neymar and Danilo will miss the remaining Brazil matches in the World Cup group stage, against Switzerland and Cameroon, after suffering injuries in Thursday's initial victory against Serbia, as reported on Friday by selection doctor.

"Neymar and Danilo underwent an MRI on Friday afternoon and we found damage to both ankle ligaments," he told reporters.

"They will miss the next game for sure and we will be cautious as they will undergo treatment to try and get them fit so they can play again in the World Cup."

Brazil top Group G and now face Switzerland and Cameroon, without their most famous player, Neymar, or the ever-reliable full-back Danilo, although the team doctor only confirmed that they would miss the game against Switzerland.

Neymar has had problems with his right foot and ankle for several years and looked distraught when he left the pitch at the end of Thursday's game.

At the 2014 World Cup he suffered a back injury in the quarterfinal win over Colombia, ruling him out of the 7–1 semifinal loss to Germany.

Adding to Brazil's woes, winger Antony and midfielder Lucas Paquetá are ill and could also miss the game against Switzerland on Monday.
