Mike Schier comments that Vladimir Putin's terror against the civilian population in Ukraine has reached a level that requires new responses from the German government.
Vladimir Putin's terror against the civilian population in Ukraine has reached a level that also requires new answers from the German government.
But Olaf Scholz sticks to his course, lamenting the suffering of the Ukrainians with cheap words, but hesitant to send the weapons necessary for their defense.
It is shameful when the Polish government has to appeal to Berlin to deliver the Patriot missiles intended for the Polish border to Ukraine instead.
This suggestion should actually have come from Minister of Defense Lambrecht!
Any German weapon capable of intercepting Russian missiles could now save lives, could prevent more electricity or water plants in Ukraine from being destroyed.
In addition: If a missile really hits Poland again, it would have to be shot down over Ukraine by the German interceptor system - which would be a German or Polish intervention in the war.
That's another reason why it's better to leave the Patriots to Kyiv.
Scholz leaves it to Macron to convene a summit: shameful
But it is also shameful that Scholz is leaving it to French President Emmanuel Macron to convene an international summit to respond to Moscow's "war crimes".
Paris and Warsaw are pushing Berlin: there is still too little to be seen in this European war of the leading European power that Germany would like to be.
