It's still no… at least for now.
Emmanuel Macron estimated on Friday that the return to hospital of caregivers not vaccinated against Covid-19 should be a "scientifically established" decision.
“If the scientists, the doctors, the caregivers tell us that it is desirable from a scientific point of view to reintegrate these caregivers, the government must do it”, declared the head of state during a trip to Dijon.
“It is not a political choice”, he added, while a bill from LFI deputies aimed at the reintegration of unvaccinated health personnel could not be voted on Thursday in the Assembly, the opposition accusing the presidential camp of slowing down the debates.
Opinion of the HAS and the National Ethics Advisory Committee
Many opposition elected officials, LFI but also Les Républicains or Rassemblement national, plead to lift the vaccination obligation for caregivers (whose precise number is unknown, but low compared to the total workforce).
One of their arguments is about staffing shortages at the hospital.

On Sunday, the Minister of Health François Braun had indicated on RTL and LCI that he would decide when he had received the opinions of the High Authority for Health (HAS) and the National Consultative Ethics Committee.
Emmanuel Macron therefore does not say anything else, even if he did not specify which scientific bodies he was talking about.
The Committee for monitoring and anticipating health risks (Covars) could also be called upon to decide on the subject.
