Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov condemned the European Parliament's recent decision classifying Russia as a "state sponsor of terrorism."

Stressing that this decision is part of the media and political campaign that the West is carrying out against it and has nothing to do with the war against international terrorism.

“This unfriendly step is part of a private media and political campaign carried out by the West against our country and has nothing to do with the real situation in the war against international terrorism,” Syromolotov was quoted by TASS news agency as saying in a statement today, stressing that Russia has always shown itself as a responsible participant in counter-terrorism activities. terrorism.

Syromolotov added that if individual countries or the European Parliament wanted to search for real terrorists, we suggest taking a careful look and a deeper understanding of what happened not long ago in the Baltic and Black Seas, and not participating in presenting fake decisions, indicating that his country will not classify Ukraine as a terrorist state. As do violators of international law in the West.

And the deputy head of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Vladimir Chizhov, described the day before yesterday the decision of the European Parliament to consider Russia a state sponsor of terrorism as a "stupid decision and a foolish step that fuels tension."
