The plane has to land unscheduled at Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt – The central location in Europe sometimes makes Frankfurt Airport a reception center for machines in need.

This is what happened on Thursday (November 24), as can be seen from the flight data of a Singapore Airlines scheduled flight.

The Airbus A380-800 left London Heathrow on the scheduled flight to Singapore at 11:03 a.m. local time.

The route across the English Channel and across Belgium was still unproblematic, but the machine left the flight altitude of 32,000 feet over the Belgian capital Brussels.

A technical problem emerged on board, as reported by the

Aviation Herald

portal .

Frankfurt Airport: Airbus from Singapore Airlines with fuel dumping over Hesse

It quickly became clear to the crew: the flight had to be canceled, reports fnp.de.

So the Singapore Airlines Airbus flew a longer loop over Saarbrücken and Mannheim before the pilots set course for Frankfurt Airport.

On the way to Frankfurt, the crew dumped a lot of petrol into the air, fuel dumping as the jargon calls it.

Since only a fraction of the planned route had been completed, the aircraft would have been too heavy to land.

However, such actions must be approved by air traffic control.

75 minutes after takeoff from London, the Singapore Airlines Airbus touched down on the south runway at Frankfurt Airport.

As reported by

, passengers did not notice any drop in pressure on board.

It happens again and again that aircraft have to act unscheduled.

Just recently, a Lufthansa plane suddenly turned around on its way to London.

The announcement from the cockpit did not make the passengers feel good.
