Erding – The educational counseling center at the district office in Erding was able to celebrate a special anniversary.
The district has been one of only three districts in Upper Bavaria to have this offer in municipal hands for 70 years.
District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer emphasized the importance of cooperation between the various actors in order to provide the best possible support for children and young people as they grow up: "The use of advice can already begin during pregnancy, parents are taken care of whose babies have regulation difficulties, problems in kindergarten, at school, during puberty, during the process of detachment from home by young people.
The aim is to help parents keep an eye on the well-being of their children.”
The establishment of the educational counseling center was decided on November 26, 1952 by the district committee.
Bayerstorfer underscored the suggestion of his predecessor, Dr.
Herbert Weinberger, who emphasized that it was an honor for the district to set up an educational counseling center in Erding.
An essential counseling goal is to help the parents to cope with their helplessness and excessive demands and the resulting aggressive impulses, in order to avert an imminent danger of abuse in the worst case.
The range of services offered by the educational counseling center has grown steadily over the seven decades of its existence.
The latest project are the 5 family bases in Fraunberg, Dorfen, Forstern, Taufkirchen and Wartenberg, which have been built in the last three years.
These are the contact points for questions about everyday family life, especially for questions about education.
In their role as pilots, family support centers can also help with questions about what help is available or where and what benefits can be applied for.
