Dear subscribers,
Since 2015, there have never been so many illegal arrivals in Europe as this year.
The borders are being taken over by migrants and the States are struggling to manage this influx, which has been reinforced by the war in Ukraine.
We saw this with the recent diplomatic crisis triggered by the
Ocean Viking affair,
an episode that prompted France to request an emergency meeting between EU interior ministers.
The meeting takes place today.
We will try to find common ground, with a Darmanin who will recall that there is “
no solidarity without responsibility
”.
For a bit of levity, because we are one month away from Christmas, this Friday we are taking you behind the scenes of Santa Claus' secretariat, the one managed by La Poste française from Libourne, and in the best restaurants that serve cheese melted in Paris.
