There is currently a ray of light on the horizon: The unpackaged store "Ois ohne" on Tölzer Hindenburgstraße could manage to survive.

The prerequisite is that further purchase subscriptions are concluded by November 30th.

Bad Tölz – In any case, three quarters of the total amount required has already been raised.

"I'm cautiously optimistic," said board member Andreas Munkert when asked by a courier on Thursday.

As reported, at the most recent meeting of the cooperative, the possible impending closure of the shop was discussed before bankruptcy would otherwise have to be filed in the near future.

A final deadline of November 30 was decided.

Voucher with a personal number: start on December 1st

That's why the board members and committed helpers have worked hard and started a subscription campaign.

Anyone who signs up commits to shopping in the store for at least 20 euros a month for a year – if you want, you can of course also spend a larger subscription sum each month.

Everyone then receives a voucher with a personal number.

With this voucher you can shop in the store.

The subscription model starts on December 1st and will only be implemented if there are enough people to make the model work.

The store wants to secure a monthly turnover of 10,000 euros with this.

"This is the only way we can ensure the continued existence of the 'Ois ohne'."

Rising costs are a problem

If the campaign is successful, the Tölzer Unverpackt shop will be one of the few in Germany that can survive in this time of crisis.

According to Munkert, the “mother” of all unpackaged stores in Cologne will also close soon.

This was also a role model for the Tölzer shop, founded in 2019.

The Corona crisis and the current energy crisis, including inflation, are taking a toll on these small shops.

"With Corona, it was important to people to be able to buy everything in one shop," says Munkert, referring to the large supermarkets.

"You wanted to have everything done at once." Now it is the sharp rise in spending on energy and food that is forcing people to save, as well as higher energy and rising personnel costs for the shop team itself.

There are three employees and one manager.

"We hope this model will last for a long time"

In the unpackaged shop, not only is plastic avoided, but the focus is on regional products.

There are currently 179 comrades from all over the Oberland.

"We hope that we have now found a model that will last for a long time," says Munkert.

All information about charging is available online at www.ois-ohne.de Anyone interested in subscribing should contact Andreas Munkert immediately by email at Genossenschaft@ois-ohne.de.

The shop recently changed its opening hours: Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
