Charles III referred to Buckingham Palace.

as "no longer fit for purpose," an insider tells the

In addition, the monarch feels "very comfortable" in Clarence House, his previous accommodation.

The palace, on the other hand, is not fit for modern life and its upkeep is "unsustainable," the source continues.

Rather, Charles and Camilla want to spread their lives across three residences.

Apparently Windsor Castle, Balmoral in Scotland, Sandringham in Norfolk and Clarence House were included in this life plan.

The monarch and monarch themselves are now expected to live in a triple split: it is expected that they will spend three nights a week at Clarence House, two nights at Windsor Castle and weekends at Sandringham in Norfolk.

But for the employees at Windsor Castle, a dismissal would be particularly bitter.

Awaiting Her Majesty the Queen back in Balmoral after the extended summer break, they had already made all the preparations for the Queen's return, who was never to set foot in her favorite palace.

Since the pandemic, Elizabeth II had spent much of her time at Windsor Castle, turning her back on Buckingham Palace.
