People who help: Gewo Feinmechanik in Hörlkofen has been supporting associations and initiatives in their home town and the region for years, sometimes with large amounts.

The company shares its enormous business success.

This year, a whopping 10,000 euros were donated to eight institutions, which also exchange and support each other.

Our picture was taken when the symbolic check was handed over to (back, from left): Christian and Andrea Herrmann (Schlagerfestival), Danuta Pfanzelt, Andreas Lindner (BRK), Angelika Stempel, Martina Eberl (Neighborhood Aid Hörlkofen), Rita Gabler (Sophienhospiz Erding) , Gewo managing director Stefan Woitzik and (front, from left) Andreas Thaler (fire brigade Hörlkofen), Gewo managing director Andreas Woitzik, Hans Moritz (light in the hearts),

The readers' aid organization "Light in the hearts" of the Erdinger/Dorfener Anzeiger is going into its 16th round this year.

The fundraiser helps where no help is available.

Help us!

Erding – It is a sum that is unbelievably high and makes you proud: Since the founding of "Licht in die Herzen", the readers' aid organization of the Erdinger/Dorfener Anzeiger, in 2007, citizens, associations and companies have donated well over one million euros.

Money that stays in the district of Erding to help people in need.

This weekend the fundraising campaign will be in its 16th round.

"Light in the hearts" wants to help where help is no longer available - quickly, unbureaucratically and without a cent of administration costs.

On the one hand, there are associations that the Readers' Aid Organization supports to do good, whether it's the neighborhood help, the hospice association, Caritas, the Tafel, the bridge or the BRK.

They know where the need is greatest and how to help.

In addition, "Light in the Hearts" takes on individual fates.

If a family suddenly loses the breadwinner or is absent for a longer period of time due to illness, we make sure that at least the financial worries are alleviated.

Poverty has many faces.

Poverty is also when a child cannot go on a class trip because the parents cannot afford it.

"Light in the hearts" enables participation.

This is how we have been financing breakfast and lunch for the needy in the BRK meeting house for years.

For many penniless retirees, it is often the only way to socialize.

Yes, thank God there is a dense social network.

But every net has holes.

And it cannot be the task of the municipalities and the state to absorb everything.

This is where voluntary work and private initiative come in.

The new Sophienhospice in Erding has to finance five percent of its expenses through donations.

It befits our society to ensure that hospice residents lack for nothing in the last few meters of their lives.

For this reason, we also pass on the donations from our readers to the hospice associations and the palliative care team.

There is a finely differentiated school system in Erdinger Land.

And yet there are young people who cannot gain a foothold.

Letting them slip through the cracks cannot be the solution.

And so the fundraising campaign of the local newspaper supports a class of the Verein Brücke in which young people are made fit for working life with a lot of sensitivity, coaching and internships - no talent, no matter how small, must be lost.

Last year's donation results show how helpful our readers are.

Despite the sluggish economy and short-time work, 160,000 euros were raised.

The situation is no less special this year: many people who have previously been able to manage financially are in danger of being overwhelmed this year in view of the energy prices.

We want to make sure that nobody has to freeze.

Light in the heart: The readers' aid organization of the Erdinger/Dorfener Anzeiger supports people in need through no fault of their own in the district.

Donations can be made to the account (number 17 111) at Sparkasse Erding.

Account holder: Zeitungsverlag Oberbayern.

IBAN: DE54 7005 1995 0000 0171 11. If you want a donation receipt, please note this with your address on the transfer slip.

The benefit concert for "Light in the Hearts" will take place on Friday, December 2nd at 7 p.m. in the district music school in Erding.
