87-year-old seriously injured in house fire in Bad Tölz

Bad Tölz – An 87-year-old was seriously injured in a fire in a residential building in Bad Tölz on Friday afternoon.
The Weilheim criminal police took over the investigation into the cause.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon (November 25), witnesses reported the fire in a residential building on Reginriedstrasse (near Gaißacher Strasse) in Bad Tölz to the police operations center.
From there, the integrated control center was informed immediately.
Even before the alarmed volunteer fire brigades from Bad Tölz, Lenggries and Ellbach had arrived with around 30 emergency services, according to the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South, courageous neighbors had already rescued the seriously injured 87-year-old from the blazing house.
"He had suffered severe burns and was taken to the hospital by rescue helicopter." Nothing is currently known about his state of health.
No other people were in the house during the fire.
The resulting property damage is likely to be in the six-digit range, according to initial police estimates.

Bad Tölz: "The house was practically in full fire."
"On site, it turned out that massive flames were shooting out of all the windows on the ground floor and had already spread to the roof structure," reports the Bad Tölz fire brigade, and further: "The house was practically already fully engulfed in fire."
The heat and danger of collapse made it impossible to fire the fire from the inside.
The Florian disciples then fought the fire from outside, through a window that had already burst.
In order to get to the flames under the roof, it was also necessary to remove the roof panels.
"In the case of the main building, this was possible from the turntable ladder," says the fire brigade.
Extinguishing work on Reginriedstraße took four hours - damage in the six-digit range
The fire was extinguished after about four hours and the clean-up work could begin.
Follow-up extinguishing work and the search for embers continued into the early evening.
The resulting property damage is likely to be in the six-digit range, according to initial police estimates.
After the fire brigades had finished extinguishing the fire, the Weilheim Criminal Police Office took over the police investigation.
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
