We are all community together - Mayor Helmut Zech chose this motto for the citizens' meeting, which was finally able to take place again in person.

The large hall in the Gasthaus Kolchida in Egenburg was full, and there was great interest.

Pfaffenhofen – Before Zech presented all the facts about the community, he addressed the topic of wind energy in the community together with Jan Hoppenstedt, Managing Director of Stadtwerke Fürstenfeldbruck, and Stadtwerke employee Mathias Beuter.

Zech asked for understanding and asked for approval for wind energy, which "will be a factor for the future".

The municipality has already identified locations in the land use plan and has brought the Bruck public utility company on board as a partner in order to be able to act independently (we reported).

"We are the fastest of the neighboring communities," emphasized the mayor proudly.

However, the community was already facing opposition.

Citizens who are against the installation of wind turbines handed over a list of signatures to Zech.

However, no opponents of wind power appeared at the citizens' meeting, and there were no requests to speak on the subject.

Rather, some visitors asked the municipal utility representatives questions.

They wanted to know what financial benefits could be derived from this form of energy.

Because the citizens can participate to 40 percent in a planned GmbH & Co. KG.

The rest remains with the municipal utility, although this is still negotiable, according to Jan Hoppenstedt, who promised a "return of five to seven percent" - at least.

When asked by fire brigade commander Christian Tratz, Hoppenstedt admitted that the grid connection was not yet secured, but that Bayernwerk AG was responsible for this.

"That's what our wind turbines should be," emphasized Zech.

The head of the community then presented all the facts, figures, construction projects or future projects of the community.

He said, for example, that Pfaffenhofen was a "young community".

The death rate has gone down and the birth rate has gone up.

Nevertheless, with 2393 inhabitants, there is currently a little less than last year.

89.1 percent of the community citizens have German citizenship.

Poles, Kosovars and Romanians follow.

Mayor Helmut Zech also informed those present about municipal climate protection measures, such as converting street lighting to LEDs, equipping municipal buildings with photovoltaic systems or creating flowering areas and meadow orchards.

In the calendar year, the community was able to feed in a total of 9,369,235 million kilowatt hours of electricity generated from solar systems, biomass and hydroelectric power.

From the point of view of the municipal administration, the once again low number of criminal offenses is pleasing.

In 2021, eleven criminal offenses per 1000 inhabitants were included in the statistics.

Finally, the topic of joint New Year's Eve fireworks was briefly addressed.

Tratz wanted to know if a supporting program was planned.

The mayor said that the municipality is considering leaving some of the Christmas market huts.

Drinks will also be served.

However, more details have not yet been determined.
