China recorded, for the third consecutive day, a record number of new cases of coronavirus infection, after 35,183 new infections were detected in the country during the past day.
Xinhua quoted the National Health Committee as saying in today's report: Most of the new infections, or 31,709 cases, were without any symptoms, while symptoms of the disease appeared in 3,474 people.
The largest number of new infections was recorded in Guangdong Province, with 8,422 cases, and in the large city of Chongqing, with 7,724 cases.
The total number of confirmed cases of symptoms in China since the beginning of the pandemic is 304,093, while the number of deaths is 5,232.
Yesterday, the mainland of China recorded 3,041 cases of coronavirus.
