The free voters in the district of Erding enter the election campaign briskly.

The competition from the CSU is respected but not feared.

Sven Krage should be in the state parliament, Maria Grasser in the district council.

Erding/Moosinning

– The Free Voters in the district of Erding are proud to have “found four people who are willing to stick their heads out in these turbulent times,” said Benedikt Hoigt, Vice-Chairman of the district association.

In the nomination meeting in the Moosinninger Daimerwirt, the party decided on its candidates for the state and district councils.

They managed to create a colorful mix.

Two women, two men, experienced elected officials and relatively unknown faces: One can be "very proud and grateful" to be able to "make such a great offer" to the voters in the Erding district, said Hoigt, who represented the sick Ullrich Gaigl at the meeting directed.

FW direct candidate for the state parliament Sven Krage receives 87 percent of the votes

The Free Voters send Sven Krage into the race as a direct candidate for the state parliament.

87 percent of those present (13 votes) voted for the third mayor of the city of Dorfen - whereby a percentage result with just 15 appearing members of the district association entitled to vote does not seem very meaningful.

The youth officer in Dorfen emphasized that he wanted to reach the younger generation in particular with his political issues - "they suffered the most from the pandemic and had to lose feathers".

The 54-year-old is aware that the election campaign is a challenge, he said.

After all, he is up against “a state minister” – Ulrike Scharf from the CSU.

But "nothing is impossible," he said confidently.

Second vote candidate is Birgit Obermaier from Pastetten

Second vote candidate is Birgit Obermaier from Pastetten.

The 48-year-old won twelve votes and emphasized the preservation of family-run agriculture as a matter close to her heart.

She brings with her fresh election campaign experience - only last year she ran as a direct candidate for the federal elections.

The Erding Free Voters have not yet had a seat in the state parliament – Freisinger Benno Zierer is responsible for them as a support representative.

The situation is different in the district council: Maria Grasser from Isen has represented the interests of the district here since 2018.

100 percent support for FW District Councilor Maria Grasser

There, Grasser gained a very high reputation “through her factually excellent work and her extraordinary diligence”, praised Zierer, who supported the Erdinger party friends as election officer.

The dream result of 100 percent, with which Grasser was re-elected district council candidate, shows that those entitled to vote saw things the same way.

She herself was initially a little intimidated by her competitor, whom the district CSU had named the previous evening: Erding's mayor Max Gotz was "the Porsche in the CSU", which is why she "had had to swallow" about this competitor.

But then Grasser showed himself combative.

The CSU personnel is the proof: "Now they got scared, that doesn't bother me at all."

Stephan Weindler from St. Wolfgang throws his hat into the ring

Grasser is primarily involved in social issues in the district council, she describes herself as a "moral conscience".

Even if it is sometimes not chic, you have to try not to spend the money too carelessly, so as not to just leave debts to the next generation.

"Otherwise our children will curse us," she said.

Stephan Weindler has signed up as a list candidate for the district council.

The 44-year-old has hardly appeared on the political stage outside of his community of St. Wolfgang and was able to convince twelve party friends (80 percent) who were entitled to vote.

He is committed to education.

"You really are a great team," MdL Zierer motivated his fellow campaigners.

"It will only work together," added Hoigt and appealed to the entire base to support the candidates: "You have to feel the wind from below."
