She is characterized by a high level of commitment to disabled people.
Monika Haslberger is now receiving an award for this.
Freising
- She works tirelessly for people with disabilities: Monika Haslberger, who is not only chairwoman of Lebenshilfe Freising, but also deputy federal chairwoman.
Now she is being honored for her "outstanding commitment": Monika Haslberger receives the Bavarian Constitutional Order from the President of the State Parliament Ilse Aigner in the Maximilianeum.
When her eldest daughter with Down syndrome was born in 1980, Monika Haslberger first came into contact with Lebenshilfe.
Over time, this contact grew into the extraordinary commitment to people with disabilities, "which has now lasted for almost 30 years and has expanded from the local level to the state and federal level," as the laudation says.
"One of our goals is to create normality for people with disabilities," says Monika Haslberger - she personally advocates this on many levels, including as a trainer for rehabilitation sports for people with mental disabilities.
