A lot of encouragement for the latest project from tuner JP Kraemer: his idea of getting a Renault Twingo going again as cheaply as possible is extremely well received by the fans.

It's not always easy as a YouTuber - after all, the fan base, which was just euphoric, can be angry the next day.

It's not much different with the Dortmund tuner Jean Pierre "JP" Kraemer (42).

Just recently, many of his fans were angry because he sold his calendar for half the price about a month after the performance.

But now he is receiving a lot of praise – because he has started a new video project.

He bought a Renault Twingo on an online auction platform for exactly 302 euros.

And now he wants to get it going again for as little money as possible: "I want to show you how little money you can buy a safe car and then drive it."

Tuner JP Kraemer has a new project: He wants to legally bring a Renault Twingo back on the road as cheaply as possible.

Jean Pierre Kraemer: Fans enthusiastic about the new 300-euro project – "Best idea in a long time"

The Renault Twingo is a real cult car from the 1990s.

In 1993, the four-seater subcompact came onto the market - the first generation of the small space miracle with the bulging-eyed headlights was even built until 2007.

One of the highlights: the sliding rear seat, which actually gave the rear passengers a decent amount of space – at the expense of the trunk volume, of course.

A French company is even reviving the Twingo as an electric car.

Jean Pierre Kraemer and his Twingo: "I think Greenpeace is good"

And just such a cult Twingo has now been bought by JP Kraemer for little money.

"I like the Twingo very, very much," explains the man from Dortmund in his video (to be found below).

The TÜV of the mini-French has expired, but from the outside the Spar-Mobil makes a pretty neat impression.

Even a sunroof is installed - and the bonnet was subsequently decorated with a few "car tattoos": butterflies and starfish cavort there.

There is also a "Greenpeace" sticker on the rear window.

"I think Greenpeace is good," says JP Kraemer.

Does he really mean it?

In fact, some time ago he had signaled a willingness to talk to environmental activists.

Jean Pierre Kraemer and his Twingo: "The tank is as big as a surprise egg"

The driver's door of the Twingo is stuck - the electric windows work for that.

And the space available in the small car is also remarkable: with the rear seat back folded down, four 19-inch rims fit into the mini speedster, as the tuner demonstrates.

With 60 hp, the Twingo is certainly not a racing car, but it doesn't need a lot of fuel either.

"The tank is the size of a surprise egg," jokes JP Kraemer.

Jean Pierre Kraemer and his Twingo: "We've never had a Renault on the Channel"

Most of his projects are a bit more expensive, explains the tuner - but this time he wants to do it differently.

But he didn't want to take the usual suspects like a Golf III or a BMW 3 Series (E36).

And the Twingo is actually a premiere: "We've never had a Renault on the channel." Although JP Kraemer, who recently made his autism diagnosis public, wants to do everything as cheaply as possible, he can't quite do it out of his skin: "Of course we also want to tune it up a bit."

JP Kraemer fans enthusiastic about the new project: "Finally a car that suits Dortmund"

Even the first test drive in the cheap Twingo does not give a bad impression.

"He brakes, he accelerates," was the tuner's first conclusion.

The ABS works too.

But then it turns out that the brakes aren't that good anymore.

So there is a need for action here.

On the other hand, JP is impressed by the sound of the little Frenchman: "It's louder than an RS3 from 2022!".

In any case, the fans of JP Kraemer are enthusiastic about the low-budget project, as the comments under the video show:

  • "I celebrate so much.

Better than all the expensive projects that so many people are doing on YouTube these days.”

  • "Finally a car that suits Dortmund... just a few dents are still missing, but that's okay!

    :)”

  • "Something like this should be on the channel a lot more often!"

  • "After this video, Twingo prices skyrocket."

  • “More projects like this, please!”

  • "Haven't laughed that much in a long time."

  • "Best idea in a long time."
