Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federal Council Konstantin Kosachev criticized attempts to classify Russia's special military operation in Donbass as sponsoring terrorism.
Kosachev said on his Telegram channel today: “It is legally flawed to describe the Russian special military operation in Donbass as sponsoring terrorism,” describing the decision of the Dutch Parliament in this regard as a false position, indicating that the West is replacing concepts once again.
Kosachev asked, “Why does the West not ask, instead, the question: What are American and European banks doing to manage terrorist financing channels, and what multinational companies sponsor terrorist organizations banned by the United Nations and who is behind them?”
Stressing that “this means that countries must focus on international cooperation to combat terrorism, and search for the real beneficiaries and sponsors of international terrorism.”
Yesterday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov condemned the recent decision of the European Parliament that classifies Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, stressing that this decision is part of the media and political campaign that the West is carrying out against it, and has nothing to do with the war against international terrorism.
