Kuwait announced the detection of the first case of cholera on its soil, for a citizen who had recently returned from a neighboring country.
The Kuwaiti News Agency, KUNA, quoted the Ministry of Health as saying in a statement on Twitter: “It was discovered that a citizen had symptoms of the disease,” adding that the necessary treatment was provided to the patient in one of its hospitals, and those in contact with him were dealt with according to the approved protocols. They are currently being monitored to ensure their safety.
The ministry called for taking caution and caution for citizens and residents, and making sure to avoid sources of drinking water and unsafe foods.
