The AG Regenwasser has developed a recommendation for the dilapidated sewage system in Finsing.

Around 70 citizens listened to this at an information evening.

Finsing

– It has been a fact for years that the rainwater drainage system in Finsing needs renovation.

The fact that this also means a great financial burden for the residents.

In a meeting, the AG Regenwasser, an association of interest group and planning committee, has now presented the results of their considerations.

The appeal is clear: the project should be tackled now to avoid cost increases.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Erding newsletter.)

Keeping the costs for the residents as low as possible is the goal of the AG Regenwasser.

After deliberations, calculations and expert opinions, she was now able to give the Finsingers a concrete recommendation.

The background is the planned village renewal, in the context of which Kirchenstrasse and Hofener Strasse are to be renovated.

However, this can only be carried out if the functionality of the lines is guaranteed for at least 25 years.

During an inspection, however, it was found that the rainwater system showed a lot of damage.

Since the pipes also need to be resized in some areas, just spot repairs are out of the question.

The resulting costs must be passed on to the property owners in accordance with the law, which is why many Finsingers fear high costs.

In principle, one is better positioned with a new construction of the rainwater sewer system than with a renovation, explained AG chairman Dieter Heilmair in the Burschenstüberl in Finsing.

Together with the other members of the working group, he had gone through possible solutions.

As a lawyer from the Bavarian Municipal Council explained some time ago, it is only possible to bill for contributions in the event of a new creation.

If the sewage system is renovated, fees must be charged.

According to the AG, however, contributions have advantages, such as subsidies.

In addition, billing will only take place after 50 percent of the total measure has been implemented.

Basically, you have more time to find a solution that causes minimal stress to the residents.

A binding statement on the costs cannot be made.

According to the current status, a third would be legally permissible for the drainage of private properties, street drainage and the drainage of wild water flowing in from the outside area.

In this way, the municipality can share in the costs.

"We also looked at what it would look like if this generalization did not correspond to reality and a smaller part could be assigned to the properties," Heilmair explained to the approximately 70 visitors.

However, a survey reviewing the ratio puts the lots at 50 percent, while road drainage would make up 14 percent and runoff would make up 36 percent.

"In this case, a one-third solution is much better for the residents," said the chairman.

Johann Huber and Korbinian Buchmann gave the residents an insight into their attempts to "screw the third solution further down".

One possibility is, for example, to include a ditch flowing from Gelting in the calculations.

“This was originally outsourced.

But if you add it, the proportion of inflowing water increases and the proportion for the local residents would decrease,” explained Buchmann.

However, the additional production costs must be taken into account.

“If we include them, we won't gain anything again.

In this case, too, the solution of thirds is no worse.”

Buchmann also emphasized that the first phase of construction, which affects Kirchenstrasse and Hofener Strasse, should be implemented as soon as possible.

"It will be settled later.

This is how inflation plays into our hands.

At the moment, a third is the best we can get.”

Heilmair emphasized that no one is expected to make an immediate decision.

"We want to give a recommendation for the way forward." Basically, you want to signal "that the topic is being worked on and that an attempt is being made to get the best out of it," as he emphasized in an interview with the local newspaper.

Andreas Wimmer appealed to keep the village renewal project in mind.

"We just can't say at the moment how much it will cost.

We might be able to do that in 20 years.

But now we have to say whether we're going to do it or not.

We can also leave that, but then the road will remain as it is.”

And Ludwig Lex also made it clear: “Now we have a unique opportunity.

We have the unanimous decision that the measure has been included in the budget despite the financial situation.

If we leave here with the decision not to do it, it would be an absolute catastrophe." And Buchmann added: "If we don't do anything now, what will happen in the future?

If the channel really breaks down, the community will certainly not involve us anymore.”
