According to Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), climate activists are missing their target with disruptive actions such as those at BER Airport.
"I cannot understand these actions, they are not only incomprehensible, but also extremely dangerous, as you could see with the activities at BER, for example," Scholz said on Saturday at the SPD Brandenburg state party conference in Cottbus in response to a question from the German press agency.
Cottbus - He also criticized actions in museums.
"I also didn't understand what good it does for the climate if you smear works of art.
In this respect, those involved should consider other activities than those that are accepted by almost nobody in Germany.” The fight against climate change is one of the major tasks.
"We will also be able to do this with technical progress in Germany."
Activists from the “Last Generation” group gained access to the capital’s BER airport on Thursday and temporarily paralyzed air traffic.
Some got stuck on the tarmac.
The Brandenburg State Criminal Police Office is investigating six activists for dangerous interference in air traffic, disruption of public services, trespassing and property damage, among other things.
In Germany and other European countries, climate demonstrators had blocked roads and stuck there, causing traffic problems.
They also stuck to paintings in museums and splattered food on artwork without damaging it.
