The Presidency of the Council of Ministers confirmed that the concerned authorities have begun to take legal measures against those who failed to implement the rain drainage project in the Al-Thawra Highway in Lattakia Governorate and not to complete it, which led to the death of the young engineer, Nada Daoud, as a result of her fall into one of the open rain drainage channels and referred them to the competent judiciary.
In the context, the Prime Minister, Eng. Hussein Arnous, issued a decision to cancel the assignment of Eng. Talal Ahmed Ghanem to the post of Director General of the General Sanitary Company in Lattakia Governorate, as a result of his failure to perform his work and the tasks assigned to him, follow up on the implementation of the Foundation’s work plan and the projects it undertakes, and not follow public safety procedures in implementing projects.
In addition, the Minister of Defense issued an administrative order relieving Engineer Nawar Othman, Director of Branch 10 Military Constructions in Lattakia, from his duties due to negligence in his work and failure to take the necessary measures to ensure public safety at the project implementation sites.
The young woman, Nada, died after falling into a sewage crater on the Al-Thawra Highway opposite the youth housing junction in Lattakia, as the fire brigade in Lattakia managed to remove the body of the young woman after long hours of continuous search.
