Monday, November 21, the island of Java in Indonesia was hit by a magnitude 5.6 earthquake.

310 people perished in the collapse of buildings, but also in landslides triggered by the tremors that hit this very hilly region.

More than six million Ukrainian households were affected by power cuts on Friday November 25, two days after massive Russian strikes against the country.

Lieutenant-Colonel Sophie Adenot, 40, has been chosen as an astronaut at the European Space Agency (ESA).

On Wednesday, November 23, the list of the new promotion of astronauts was published.

Among the nearly 23,000 candidates, only five people were selected: the Briton Rosemary Coogan, 31, scientist at CNES (the National Center for Space Studies), the French Sophie Adenot, the Spaniard Pablo Álvarez Fernández, the Belgian Raphaël Liégeois, biomedical engineer, and the Swiss Marco Alain Sieber, emergency physician.
