The latest European Weather Model (ECMWF) forecast for winter weather is worrying.

Kassel – Experts agree: This winter will not only be far too warm, but also too dry.
At least that's what the latest forecast by the European weather model (ECMWF) for the winter of 2022/23 in Germany says. Experts are concerned.
Experts have been predicting a mild winter for months.
Compared to the years 1991 to 2020, this should be around two degrees too warm in 2022 and early 2023 in Germany.

If this prognosis actually came true, one could speak of a record winter for Germany.
The US weather model NOAA has also calculated that the winter has been significantly too warm since the summer of 2022.
Cold air breaks are pushed further and further back again and again.

In northern Germany in particular, November is said to be two to three degrees too warm in comparison.
According to forecasts, the lack of rain and the associated drought will also have a negative impact on the winter months.
October and the entire summer of 2022 were already too dry.
Only September brought more rain.
Dry winter weather: according to experts, no rain in sight
And December and January are also expected to be too dry.
Normally, the water reservoirs are refilled in winter - this cannot be expected this season.
The great rain deficit drags on into next spring 2023, experts suspect.
