The Director of Culture in Aleppo, Jaber al-Sajour, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the monthly book fair, which is being held today, includes the publications of the Syrian General Book Authority with about 300 titles, with a discount of up to 50 percent, in addition to the participation of the Istanbul House for Printing, Publishing and Distribution, in cooperation with the Al-Manhal Library, with about 600 titles.

He stressed that the aim of the exhibition is to encourage readers to return to the book, especially the younger generation, children and adolescents, and to offer large discounts, so that those with limited income segments can acquire books and access the sources of science and knowledge, and an opportunity for university students to interact with the owners of publishing houses and libraries, to acquire knowledge in their journey. Scientific and cultural.

Abdul Qadir Istanbul, Director of Dar Istanbul for Publishing and Printing, said: “Participation in today’s exhibition comes within the framework of supporting culture due to the wide demand for reading by young people, especially after the Arab Reading Challenge competition, which constituted an incentive for students to continue reading.”

The Director of Al-Azizia Cultural Center, Jihad Al-Ghanima, explained that the titles that the Directorate of Culture participated in varied between thought, history, written and translated novels by Syrian writers, a special pavilion for children, and periodicals, the most important of which is Al-Shahba Magazine, in addition to recent titles for books that were printed this year.
