The police, together with the AFCD and other departments, launched an inter-departmental joint law enforcement operation in the district early this morning (27th) to crack down on triad activities, illegal immigrants and illegal labor activities.

In three actions, a fish wholesaler was issued a verbal warning by the relevant authorities for breaching the terms of the lease.

The Competition Commission pointed out that it had received complaints earlier that some wholesalers in the wholesale market were suspected of collusion in pricing seafood when setting the wholesale price of seafood, in violation of the "First Conduct Rule" under the Competition Ordinance ("Ordinance") .

During the operation, the Competition Commission collected information related to the case, including asking the practitioners of more than 30 fish wholesalers through questionnaires.

The Competition Commission is closely following up the case and will maintain close contact with the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau of the Police and other relevant departments during the process.
