The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, expressed his condolences to the Republic of Belarus on the death of its Foreign Minister, Vladimir Mackie, noting that the late made great efforts to improve the friendly relations between the two countries, and was distinguished by his stances in support of Syria in the face of the terrorist aggression it was subjected to.
Al-Miqdad said, in a telegram of condolence addressed today to the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Sergei Allink: With great sorrow and deep sadness, we received news of the death of our dear friend and colleague Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
Al-Miqdad added: The late, great was an experienced diplomat and a loyal patriot, who defended the causes of his country with all force, to the same extent that he defended the just causes of the people.
Believing that peace and security in the world can only be achieved in a world in which everyone enjoys justice and prosperity and where the tendencies of domination and arrogance are banished.
Al-Miqdad continued: In these painful moments, we remember the great efforts made by the late minister to improve the friendly relations between our two countries, and his firm stances in support of Syria in the face of the terrorist aggression it was subjected to.
Al-Miqdad said: Please accept my deepest condolences and sincere sympathy for this painful affliction. We hope to convey our condolences to colleagues in the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the family and friends of the late Minister Vladimir Makei.
Yesterday, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry announced the death of Minister Mackie at the age of 64, and Mackie has held the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus since 2012.
