At the Neuwied Zoo, the animal keepers are happy about the offspring of the anteaters.
The baby explores the surroundings on mum's back.
Long nose, round ears and black beady eyes: A baby anteater saw the light of day at Neuwied Zoo.
It doesn't have a name yet.
But the little girl is already quite alert and keeps her mother on her toes.
On your next visit you could experience the mother-daughter team live.

Anteater mom Esmiralda proudly carries her newborn around.
The anteater girl sits on her mother's back like a little rider: her head is in the air, her long tongue stretched out.
For Esmiralda it is the first boy ever - just like for the Zurich Zoo, which is happy about a porcupine baby.
For the birth in September, the animal keepers have therefore housed them in a quiet enclosure far away from visitors.
"Since Esmiralda has never had any offspring, we wanted to give her as much rest as possible for the birth and the first few weeks of rearing," writes Neuwied Zoo on its Facebook page.
As it turned out, Esmiralda is a very caring mother who instinctively takes care of her cub.
The little anteater is now about two months old and has grown quite a bit.
And curiosity is also growing: more and more often she climbs off her mum's back and explores the area.
There are also offspring at the Krefeld Zoo: The oldest sloth in the world has become a father again.

Attentive visitors to the zoo have already noticed that Esmiralda has not been seen in the tamandua enclosure in the Prince Maximilian zu Wied Hall for a while.
But on the next tour, those who are interested can experience the newborn anteater girl live with her mom.
"The best time to see mother and cub is in the late afternoon, so it's best to make a detour into the hall shortly before the end of your visit to the zoo," reveals the team.
