The municipality of Reichling sees an urgent need for action with regard to the water supply.

Because not only the nitrate values ​​of the drinking water from the Bachrunzel spring leave a lot to be desired: the slope on which the spring tappings are located also slides down a bit.

And a more precise determination of the inflow direction also revealed that there is a former gravel pit there, which represents a risk factor for the drinking water quality.

Risk factors are heavy rainfall

The community has therefore had an engineering office prepare an expert opinion on the current Reichlinger water supply.

Accordingly, several factors speak in favor of switching to an alternative water supply.

A risk factor is therefore currently extreme heavy rainfall: Here, a threat to drinking water cannot be ruled out.

And as far as nitrate levels are concerned, they have only been slightly below the maximum permissible levels in recent years.

However, the maximum values ​​should possibly be halved in the future, and then the nitrate values ​​of the water from the Bachrunzel spring would be too high.

Refurbish spring tapping or look for a new well?

The results of the report suggest that the community should find an alternative for the stream runnel - for example in the form of a new well for the Reichling district.

"The question now is: Should we rehabilitate the spring tapping or should we build a new well?" Mayor Johannes Leis explained at the most recent municipal council meeting.

Water warden Hubert Rapp spoke out in favor of a new well, as recommended in the report, he explained.

Alexander Graf said that a common supply for Reichling and Ludenhausen could possibly be found.

Possibly at a new location between Reichling and Ludenhausen.

Share the well in Gimmenhausen?

Bernhard Pössinger suggested using the well in Gimmenhausen, which currently only supplies Ludenhausen and Gimmenhausen.

The water from this well is very good, argued Pössinger.

Perhaps Reichling could still be supplied with water from the well, said the deputy mayor.
