Star Child parents meet regularly to support each other.
There is an offer from an affected mother from the DAV and the Bethanien Sternkinder counseling center Oberland.
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen/Miesbach
– Losing a child during pregnancy or shortly after birth can be a traumatic experience.
But sufferers are not alone.
At the counseling center Bethanien Sternenkinder in the Oberland they receive a variety of support.
These do not have to be exclusively consultations.
A climbing course for star child parents started this month.
Jenny Türnau came up with the idea.
She is an affected mother herself and works for the German Alpine Association (DAV).
"At the time, I was very well received by a counseling center in Munich," she describes her own experiences.
Support is very important in this situation.
"It's a very emotional experience that you have to cope with and process.
The best way to do this is with like-minded people.” When she moved to Bad Tölz six years ago,
there was no such contact point here in the district.
"I think it's good and important that they exist now.
Today I am extremely grateful and have two healthy children.
It was always clear to me that I wanted to give something back.”
She came up with the idea of climbing because it is above all important to give women and couples courage and a good time.
"You also have to take care of yourself and your own body." When she did her DAV trainer license three years ago, the idea of finding mental strength through physical strength became more concrete.
"When you're in that situation, you tend to retreat.
Climbing is ideal for this because you keep your head on one thing.” “Two couples and four women immediately registered for the course,” reports Bianca Steinbauer, head of the advice center.
So the places were fully booked.
Since many offers are aimed more at mothers, they wanted to get fathers on board with climbing.
This has succeeded.
At the beginning of each unit there is a small opening round.
“We sit down and talk about how everyone is doing,” reports Türnau.
"Life with a child who died so early is like riding the waves, sometimes the waves are smaller, sometimes bigger."
"Parents can find new strength through climbing"
Initially, five units are planned.
Other courses will follow, depending on demand.
Steinbauer: "Anyone interested in our courses from January 2023 are welcome to contact the advice center." It is important that there is a one-on-one interview before climbing.
Bianca Steinbauer from the advice center is also grateful that the DAV section and the climbing hall in Tölz were so accommodating to the group and granted reduced entry to the hall.
All activities of the counseling center are available to families and professionals free of charge and are financed by the Bethanien Diakonissen Foundation.
In addition to individual talks, there are special postnatal courses and supervision for professionals.
Numerous other campaigns by the advice center took place in October, as Steinbauer reports.
the 15th
October is declared worldwide as a day of remembrance for star children.
On this occasion, relatives tied 100 flower hearts, which they distributed in the Rosenheim pedestrian zone.
This was intended to draw attention to the needs of star child families.
"Parents can now also find new strengths through climbing," says Steinbauer, who is herself trained in therapeutic climbing.
