In the district of Freising there is a new local Green Party group.
Committed people from three communities have made a common cause for this.
Langenbach
– It went in no time and without any complications: The Langenbach Greens under the leadership of spokeswoman Verena Juranowitsch and Michael Kilian have successfully initiated the establishment of a large, cross-community Greens local association.
On Friday, the Alter Wirt in Langenbach got down to business.
The new local branch Ampertal, which is home to members from three municipalities, was toasted.
The Langenbacher local association basically had a problem that many local associations have, namely few members.
In the case of Langenbach: eight greens.
In Haag and Zolling there were committed Greens, but no local branch.
Better one big bandage than three small ones
So what to do?
"We met with some members for exploratory talks in the beer garden in the summer," said Juranowitsch.
It quickly became clear that the plan for a larger local association could definitely work.
Instead of founding a local branch with few members in Haag and Zolling, the decision was quickly made to put a certain pound on the table with the new local branch in Ampertal - with a total of 19 Greens.
According to Juranowitsch, the motto was quickly found: "We grew together from different roots!" What is also important to her: "We want to make it clear that we can learn from each other across local borders and achieve common goals." The common home around the Amper now want to protect the Greens from Langenbach, Haag and Zolling together.
"Together we are stronger and can achieve even more," emphasized Juranowitsch, who has been on board in Langenbach since the local association was founded in 2013/14.
For the new local branch Ampertal, however, she now let others go first.
The new leaders have different priorities
Ernst Hutsteiner from Haag and Sandra Smolka from Zolling were elected as chairmen, who also changed the terms via the statutes.
Instead of the usual “speakers”, there are now classic, equal chairpersons.
Why?
Here Smolka clarified: "In my experience, people always confuse this with press spokesman."
What is still very important to the 43-year-old from Zollingen: "My main topics are flight and migration, which is why I am already involved in the asylum and helper group in Zolling." probably the most central issues of this time: on energy, transport and nature conservation.
What is also important to him: "We all have to resist more and clearly anti-democratic currents."
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
Verena Juranowitsch and Susanne List were then elected as assessors, and Andreas Hauner as a representative of the Green Youth.
What the two newcomers definitely want to keep: The established regulars' table series with specialist lectures, the next one will probably take place in Zolling.

What pleased Juranowitsch as a municipal councilor was the fact that all parliamentary groups could work well together in Langenbach's municipal council and that the topic of "climate" had "arrived" with everyone.
What she would like to push for in the coming year is greater youth participation, for example via town meetings for young people.
