During the past week, cultural institutions in Syria witnessed many activities and events to commemorate the Syrian Culture Week. I had the honor to participate in the festival and forum that was held by the Directorate of Culture in Raqqa on 11-23-24-2022 in Al-Sabkha district in the liberated countryside of Raqqa. Writers and researchers from different governorates participated in the forum. Qatar and some of them traveled hundreds of kilometers to reach the place of activity despite the difficulty and ruggedness of the paths leading to the Sabkha district, where the festival activities were held. This interaction indicates the success of the experience entitled “Syrian Culture Days” that was undertaken by the (Ministry of Culture) during the previous years, and it is an experience that needs to be developed so that it coincides with central national festivals such as the Badia Festival, which was set up by the (Ministry of Tourism) two decades ago in the city ofIt was destroyed and moved to several governorates and witnessed an unprecedented public turnout and interaction, in addition to other festivals witnessed by some governorates of the country with local initiatives and in cooperation and partnership with the local community.

Examination and reading of these festivals and annual gatherings makes the observer and the analyst of their merits aware of the issue that folklore in all its details receives great attention from the public and interacts with it in an unprecedented way, especially singing, popular dances, tales and folk poetry, especially those associated with people’s memory, which highlights the need to give them special importance and care from The authorities concerned with cultural affairs, sponsoring, embracing and supporting folk arts groups, reviving tangible and intangible heritage, in addition to encouraging diversity in the Syrian national culture, with its uniqueness and special aesthetics that enrich the national scene and the Syrian cultural idea based mainly on harmonious diversity under the framework of the unifying cultural identity, which strengthens the national fabric and makes it It is more powerful and has been subjected to unprecedented targeting during the past decade in a desperate attempt to settle a culture that is not similar to the national culture of the Syrian people, which is deeply rooted in history and public conscience.

The national culture, in its essence, is the solid nucleus in defining the identity of the people and their belonging, and the main carrier in that is the language as a tool of expression and thinking and a container of thought. A person thinks as he speaks and speaks as he thinks. It is the fence of identity and its safe fortress. In this regard, there is a need to warn and alert what some regions are witnessing. In Syria, which is outside the control of the state, there are attempts to attack the national culture and the Arabic language, and a desperate effort to impose a strange culture on the people of those regions, which are undoubtedly attempts that are doomed to failure and failure, and those who seek it will be betrayed and cursed by history.

The scars that afflicted some joints of the Syrian body by virtue of the unprecedented targeting, not only of the political system, but also of the system in which the Syrians were raised and raised, will be treated easily and easily, so that it heals, and the patriotic body becomes stronger and more fortified, restores its health, and completes its journey in a comprehensive reconstruction that transcends all weaknesses and strengthens the strengths. There are many of them, and it is the task of everyone, individuals, institutions, and local society. The homeland is not protected and built except by the arms and minds of its honorable and loyal sons.
