Logo, Stüberl, painting competition: The Ottenhofen association “Maibaunfreunde”, which has just been founded, has big plans.
Ottenhofen
– The Maibaumfreunde Ottenhofen were able to welcome around 70 guests at their first major public meeting since it was founded in the summer.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Erding newsletter.)
As assessor Franziska Schreiner explained in an interview with our newspaper after the meeting, the board of directors first submitted a progress report on the current status of the association: It was about the entry in the register of associations, the presence in social networks, the organization of the cash register and more.
This also included a club logo designed by Andrea Kretzschmar.
It was also about putting up the maypole on May 1st and everything that went with it.
"We will not change much in the traditional process," promised Schreiner.
At least the Maibaumstüberl is to be enlarged.
There are already the first items on the agenda: a family afternoon is planned, as well as a watt tournament, kettle meat dinner and more.
At the family afternoon, the assessor was able to be more specific: the popcorn machine will come into action, there will be face painting and a performance by the Ottenhofen cabaret artist Werner Meier.
Advertising must also be done.
According to the Schreiner association, the association organized a painting competition for the third graders at the elementary school, and the jury must have been quite tough: "Three of the 20 pictures are now our favourites," she reported.
The poster is then created from one or more of these drafts.
"These children will then also receive a gift from the club."
The association will also be present at the traditional event "Ottenhofen celebrates Advent" on Saturday, December 10th, around the maypole - among other things with Schupfnudel with sauerkraut and hot Aperol.
The Maibaumfreunde Ottenhofen are the youngest club in the community - in terms of the average age of the members, but also in terms of the date of its founding this summer.
After the withdrawal of other clubs, the association wants to continue the tradition of erecting the maypole in the village.
