John Hardman, coach of the Canadian national team, told the Canadian journalists who arrived in Qatar that his national team "will come and fuck Croatia".
The world runner-up was furious at that defiance, promised "revenge" and rewarded the Canadians with an impressive 1:4 today (Sunday) at Khalifa Stadium, which put her on top of the house and eliminated Canada's chances of qualifying for the eighth.
Canada did celebrate a historic goal in the World Cup games, but Alphonso Davies' goal after 68 seconds was far from enough in light of a turnaround that was completed in the first half.
The Croatian media rushed back to stung the Canadian coach and his team and wrote that "Croatia won thanks to 'karma'", which is of course a play on words since this is the nickname of Andrii Kramaric.

"I want to thank Canada's coach for the motivation he gave us. In the end, Croatia proved who the fuck is who," said Andrej Kramaric, who scored twice and tied with Dario Serna for sixth place in Croatia's all-time scorers with 22 goals. "We had a very difficult start, five bad minutes, but we proved that we are always focused, strong, play the right way and achieved a quick turnaround. But we must not get euphoric now because the last game against Belgium will be decisive. For me it was a special evening because you don't score a brace every day At the World Cup, I thank everyone for the support."
Similar things were also said by Ivan Perišić, who scored twice for Kramarić: "I promised you after the first game that you would see a much better Croatia. Against Morocco we were too focused on the defensive game because we knew how strong the opponent was in bursts, but it wasn't us and that's how it would have looked . Today we started terribly, but we recovered and deservedly won. We now have a game against Belgium and we know we must not lose, but we will play to win. We must be smart and play without fear, because we know how good we are."

The final round of Group V will be held on Thursday, when Croatia will meet Belgium at 17:00 and at the same time Canada will play against Morocco.
A draw between Croatia and Belgium would advance the world runners-up to the round of 16, but Belgium would be knocked out in such a scenario if already eliminated Canada did not beat Morocco.
If Morocco does not lose to Canada, the loser between Belgium and Croatia will be eliminated and in the event of a draw it will be Belgium that will be eliminated.
