142 firefighters were on Friday night in a fire in an agricultural hall in Großhündlbach.

A power line had to be shut down.

Fraunberg

– A large contingent of the fire brigade was called to Großhündlbach on Friday evening.

A total of 142 emergency services extinguished the fire in an agricultural hall in the municipality of Fraunberg.

According to the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria North, there was high property damage in the mid-six-digit euro range.

The criminal police in Erding are investigating.

No people or animals were injured by the fire.

The hall caught fire for unknown reasons.

A neighbor reported the fire around 8:15 p.m.

In addition to straw and hay, grain was also stored in the hall.

Some of the machines parked in it could still be driven out of the hall before they were destroyed by the fire.

Other equipment, such as a forklift, was engulfed in flames.

The building's roof collapsed during the firefighting effort, which continued into the early hours of the morning.

Fighting the fire was difficult because the hay and straw that had caught fire had to be spread out to extinguish all the embers.

In the end, fire watch still had to be maintained, reports the designated District Fire Councilor Florian Pleiner when asked.

A power line running above the hall had to be switched off due to the fire.

Therefore, the districts of Großhündlbach and Kleinhündlbach were temporarily without electricity.

Under the direction of the Maria Thalheim fire brigade, there were still forces from the Grünbach, Reichenkirchen, Erding, Altenerding, Hofkirchen, Lengdorf and Taufkirchen fire brigades as well as civil protection, district fire inspection and the fire brigade service center on site.
