It will be debated at the beginning of the week at the Palais Bourbon.
The bill (PPL) of the Renaissance deputy, Guillaume Kasbarian, aimed at protecting housing against illegal occupation and adopted a few days ago in the Economic Affairs Committee with the votes of the majority, LR, RN and Liot, could well make new sparks.
This PPL, whose main objective is to strengthen the penalties incurred by squatters, also plans to review the mechanisms for evicting tenants who do not pay their rent.
The latest law on the subject, which dates from 2020, had in particular made it possible to simplify the procedures in the prefecture to recover an occupied property.
But Guillaume Kasbarian wants to go further.
“These subjects absolutely must be dealt with, and it is not a question of a right-left divide.
If we don't act quickly, populists of all stripes will seize it,”
argues the chairman of the social affairs committee.
