New living space in the southern spa garden: the first two dozen apartments are finished, another 62 will follow

Erding – The Oberbayerische Heimstätte (OH) has completed the first 24 apartments in the Southern Thermengarten.

By the beginning of 2023 there will be a total of 86 apartments in six houses.

Erding has granted the OH the heritable building right for 99 years and in return secured an unlimited right to occupy 20% of the apartments.

District President Josef Mederer, Mayor Max Gotz and OH Managing Director Michael Zaigler handed over the key to the new home to a first family of tenants.

In total, OH built six houses with a total living space of 5,469 m² in the Southern Thermengarten between Max-Mannheimer- and Theresia-Gerhardinger-Straße.

The first 24 apartments have been ready for occupancy since November 15th.

Max Gotz emphasized that the Südliches Thermengarten has shown how living space can be developed on social terms under favorable conditions and rapid land use planning.

"Especially at the municipal level, such measures can often be implemented more quickly than with a complex funding backdrop," Gotz continues.

“Over the years we have been able to realize and maintain many sustainable housing projects together.

The oldest building still in use, which has meanwhile been modernized several times, dates back to 1952".

The buildings in the Southern Thermengarten offer a wide range of apartments with their modern two- to four-room apartments.

27 of the 86 apartments will be barrier-free.

This residential complex is also pioneering in terms of sustainability and e-mobility: every underground parking space is wired so that car owners can easily connect their wall box, whose electricity consumption is billed via the apartment meter.
