After an absence of eleven years from the cultural scene, today the building of the Brotherhood Association Club was reopened in the Bustan Al-Diwan neighborhood of Old Homs, after its rehabilitation.
The Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Homs and its dependencies, Georges Abu Zakhem, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter the importance of the return of the Brotherhood Association Club, because it is an ancient club that has a historical presence and its role in society, especially after all the events we went through, through the revival of various literary, cultural and social activities, noting That the club returned with the concerted efforts of all the efforts in the community and support the Syrian people inside and outside the country, with the aim of continuing to embrace and care for the generation.
In turn, the head of the Association of the Fraternal League Club, Engineer Nihad Semaan, pointed out that the club returned to its cultural and social activities after an absence of eleven years, as it was rehabilitated after it was vandalized by terrorist groups.
In a speech during the inauguration, in the presence of a number of social, civil and administrative events, Semaan referred to the club’s founding at the beginning of the last century in 1911, when it contributed greatly to supporting the cultural and intellectual movement in Homs, indicating that many cultural, artistic and literary personalities in Syria and the Arab world visited the club.
