The Syrian Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Idris Mia, discussed with the Omani Minister of Information, Dr. Abdullah Al-Harassi, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the media field to serve the interests of the two countries.
Ambassador Mia referred to the fierce media war that Syria has been subjected to since the early days through hundreds of television stations, newspapers, and paid pens as well as social networks, indicating the great efforts made by the Syrian media to confront this war and refute its allegations and fabrications.
He also praised the constructive role played by many brotherly and friendly media, foremost among them the Omani media, which adopted an objective and transparent line, and shed light on the crimes committed by the armed terrorist organizations and those behind them.
Ambassador Mia reviewed the latest developments in Syria and the difficult economic situation in it, resulting from the repercussions of the terrorist war and the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by America and Western countries, affecting various sectors, in addition to Washington's theft of Syrian resources such as oil, gas, wheat, cotton and others, which caused More difficult economic conditions.
In his turn, Dr. Al-Harassi renewed his country's supportive positions for Syria, pointing out that his country realized from the first days of the beginning of the events in Syria that the real goals of this war were the destruction of Syrian civilization and all that it had achieved during the past years in all fields.
Al-Harassi expressed his country's readiness to enhance cooperation and coordination between the Omani and Syrian media, in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
The meeting was attended by Counselor at the embassy, Fatouh Qudsia, and First Secretary, Muhammad Yahya.
