The beta version of Tesla's Full Self-Driving software is now available in the US to every buyer.
Allegedly, the "autopilot" can no longer be tricked so easily.
A good name is in many cases an important factor in successfully selling a product.
However, you should not mislead your customers.
Calling a driver assistance system "autopilot" or naming the highest and most expensive expansion stage Full Self-Driving (FSD) is, however, quite problematic if the technology is not able to do what it promises.
In the meantime, Tesla is also threatened with legal trouble because of these supposedly false promises in the USA.
However, it is even more questionable to test FSD software in the beta stage on public roads - experts criticize this sharply.
But now the FSD beta has recently become available to every buyer of the expensive package in the USA.
Apparently, the technology can no longer be tricked so easily.
Tesla “Autopilot”: The latest FSD beta software is designed to prevent manipulation
There is a double problem with Tesla's "Autopilot": On the one hand, there are technical weaknesses, as a test by TV journalists with a Tesla Model Y recently showed.
On the other hand, the name also means that many customers trust the vehicles more than they can - which means a great risk of accidents.
In addition, the “autopilot” has so far been quite easy to trick, as a US consumer magazine demonstrated some time ago.
Tesla's "autopilot" was sometimes quite easy to outsmart.

Tesla “autopilot”: Some drivers are fooling around with the technology
The fact that the "autopilot", which should actually be constantly monitored by the driver, was so easily fooled led to people playing all sorts of dangerous tricks with it: There were cases in which people slept behind the steering wheel in the driving Tesla - others sat driving a dog for a "funny" video.
Tesla “Autopilot”: FSD Beta Now Available to All Full Self-Driving Buyers in the US
Initially, the FSD beta was only available to selected drivers for security reasons - but since recently, every customer in the USA who has purchased the FSD for 15,000 US dollars (equivalent to around 14,400 euros, as of the end of November 2022) can now use the beta software version in his Tesla.
Tesla boss Elon Musk announced this on Twitter, which now belongs to him.

Tesla "Full Self-Driving": If a manipulation is detected, the "autopilot" switches off
YouTubers repeatedly demonstrate the weaknesses of the FSD beta version: for example in the city – or even on snow.
That's why it's even more important in the beta than it already is that the driver constantly monitors the vehicle carefully.
Therefore, Tesla has now apparently found a way to use technical means to detect tricking of the “autopilot” in most cases, as the Teslascope app reports on Twitter.
If an attempt is detected, the system shuts down.
However, the company does not name any sources or the cheating methods that can now allegedly be detected.
