The sisters Julia Rogner and Christina Wenleder from the Schuhbauers in Kirchdorf are active in charities: they set up a wishing tree in Freising.

Freising/Kirchdorf

- More than two and a half years of Corona, exploding energy prices and inflation: For many people, the current situation is a challenge - which is becoming even more difficult with a view to Christmas.

Because often there is not enough money to fulfill a long-cherished wish for children or yourself.

This is where the sisters Julia Rogner and Christina Wenleder from Schuhbauers in Kirchdorf come into play with their wishing tree.

The idea

"The Diakonie in Freising put up such a tree in the church in Lerchenfeld a few years ago.

We took part in that back then,” says Wenleder.

This year they wanted to get involved again - but the Diakonie could not handle the campaign for reasons of time and personnel.

So the sisters decided to take it on and set up the Wish Tree Alliance in Freising.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Helping those in need is an affair of the heart for both of them.

"Unfortunately, there are more and more people in our region who can no longer simply afford Christmas presents," says Wenleder.

Inflation does the rest.

The survey

Therefore, in the past few weeks, she and her sister have asked the women's shelter, the old people's home and the diaconia, among others, whether people have Christmas wishes that they cannot fulfill themselves.

80 pieces have come together so far.

"And if anyone knows a person or a family who would be happy to receive support, you are welcome to contact us," emphasizes Christina Wenleder.

The concept

The whole thing works like this: The wishes (up to a maximum of 30 euros) are now hanging on the Freising wishing tree in the courtyard of the Härtinger house at Obere Hauptstraße 26. Anyone who wants can “pick” one of the wishes – the bistro SchnickSchnack with mulled wine and Co. for the right food.

Then the wish will be fulfilled and the gift will be wrapped in a Christmassy way.

The parcels can be handed in at the Bistro SchnickSchnack by Saturday, December 17 at the latest (Monday to Friday from 11.30 a.m. to 7 p.m.).

On Saturdays, the Freisinger Land shop right next to the bistro accepts gifts from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The packages can also be handed in at the Schuhbauers in Kirchdorf – on Friday, December 16, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

In order to be able to assign them, it is important that the wish is attached to the respective package.
