Life is back in the Stockdorf "Treffpunkt": The experienced landlady Zenaida Panganiban opened her "Bamboo" in the restaurant, which belongs to the Gauting municipality, on Friday.

Stockdorf – A delicious curry dish, sushi and classic Italian lasagne will be served by Zenaida Panganiban on Friday at the official reopening of the “Treffpunkt” Stockdorf am Harmsplatz.

Happy is Gauting's mayor Dr.

Brigitte Kössinger: With the 59-year-old Filipina, who ran the small Gautinger shop "Bambus" with a cookshop on Starnberger Straße for 22 years, the municipal council has gained an experienced, well-connected restaurateur, Kössinger was pleased to say.

Master painter Marco Inverso and his three employees are sitting at one of the comfortable wooden tables.

They helped with the renovation and are now looking forward to lunch.

Sweet and sour chicken and Asian fish with horseradish sauce are already tempting in the showcase.

"The high-quality furniture comes from the former Gautingen cinema 'Abacus'," says Kössinger.

The landlady had a new kitchen and bar installed at her own expense.

She invested 15,000 euros, reports Zenaida Panganiban.

Kössinger is happy that the "Treffpunkt" has been revived.

After all, the currently 4353 Stockdorfers would have wished for a place where they could easily get together in their 2008 mission statement.

When the municipality bought the former savings bank property on Harmsplatz, the opportunity arose.

Panganiban is the second tenant selected by the local council from 20 applicants.

Your predecessor Hans-Wilhelm Knape had to give up his non-profit company Grain in the spring after the long Corona closures.

The municipality attaches great importance to the fact that the newly opened "Bambus" can actually be a meeting point.

In order for a pensioner to be able to afford a cappuccino there and meet up with her girlfriend, the community only demands “a moderate rent,” says Kössinger.

The cozy restaurant in the middle of Stockdorf has 40 seats, seven at the counter and 16 more in the outdoor area.

"It's open daily from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.," says Zenaida Panganiban.

The prices are moderate: a vegetarian dish with organic vegetables is available from 8.50 euros, an “animal welfare” meat dish from 9.50 euros, and the espresso costs 1.90 euros.

Panganiban is the "meeting point" around the clock with its six employees, including sushi roller John Penaflor and Christina Kapitzke.

The landlady is happy to open the restaurant for company Christmas parties or private parties.

A seven-course dinner costs 21.90 euros.

There are already dates.

At the Stockdorfer Christkindlmarkt on the third Advent, Gennaro from the restaurant of the same name in the Gautinger Schlosspark bakes pizza in front of the "meeting point".

On Christmas Eve, the Christmas holidays and New Year's Eve, Zenaida unlocks Panganiban "so that older people who are alone can celebrate together".

Brigitte Kössinger is very satisfied: "Zenaida Panganiban is a stroke of luck," she says.
