In the "Kölner Treff" Barbara Schöneberger shared an experience from the supermarket: At the checkout, a man mistook her for a normal customer.

The misunderstanding was followed by a questionable compliment.

Cologne – On Friday evening (November 25), WDR broadcast a best-of of the cult talk show “Kölner Treff” under the motto “Class Women”.

In addition to compilations with celebrities such as Anke Engelke (56) or Senta Berger (81), a section with moderator Barbara Schöneberger (48) also found its way into the show.

In this, the native of Munich reported on a curious incident that she had experienced a few days earlier in a supermarket.

Barbara Schöneberger has become an integral part of the German television landscape: In "Because you don't know what's happening", the moderator recently had to do without Günther Jauch (66) and Thomas Gottschalk (72) - and mastered this task with flying colors.

Away from glitz and glamor, however, the 48-year-old takes a much more casual approach: "I subordinate everything [in my private life] to coziness and comfort (...).

And at work I'm the complete opposite," said the entertainer during her visit to "Kölner Treff".

At the supermarket checkout, a man recognized the resemblance to Barbara Schöneberger, but did not take her for the presenter herself, but for a completely normal customer.

In the WDR talk, the Munich-born television star also spoke about moments in everyday life when people don't see her as Barbara Schöneberger, even though they notice the resemblance: "People often don't really think they'll meet you at the checkout.

It happened to me again three days ago.

I'm standing (...) at the checkout when a man comes up to me: 'You know what?

You know!'” She reported on an experience in the supermarket in which a customer was apparently unaware that the 48-year-old was actually in front of him.

Already knew?

Barbara Schöneberger is no longer called Schöneberger:

Barbara Schöneberger was born on March 5, 1974 in Munich and grew up in Gröbenzell, a neighboring community 16 kilometers northwest of the center of the state capital.

In 2009, the presenter, who also works as an actress and singer, married the computer entrepreneur Maximilian von Schierstädt, with whom she has a son (*2010) and a daughter (*2013).

In 2018, she confirmed on NDR that she would use her husband's surname as a civil servant, but would continue to appear as Barbara Schöneberger for professional reasons.

At first, Barbara Schöneberger pretended not to know what the supermarket customer meant – but he remained stubborn and commented on the similarity:

“You probably hear it more often,” said the man, who then gave the TV celebrity a dubious compliment said: "But you have much better proportions," he let her know, according to the 48-year-old, who then explained that she was often perceived as "fat".

But despite various questionable remarks, the television presenter has remained self-confident for years.

That goes down well with many fans.

Several Instagram users recently celebrated Barbara Schöneberger's comment under a bikini photo by Annemarie Carpendale (45).
