An 85-year-old woman was moderately injured yesterday (Sunday) by a shooting on Baruch Cohen Street in Haifa.
The elderly woman, who was in her home while bullets penetrated her windows, recreated the incident that symbolizes another step up in the wave of violence throughout the country.
"I was at home alone, my daughter wasn't at home, I was sitting on the chair watching TV and suddenly I heard an explosion and I started screaming. There were small children in the house, I was afraid of them, I shouted help, there was no one, they all ran outside, I have holes in my back, it's my luck that they didn't penetrate" , the woman said.
Immediately after the incident, MDA medics and paramedics who were called to the scene gave her medical treatment and evacuated her to Rambam Hospital while she is fully conscious and suffering from penetrating injuries.
The police were also called to the scene and an investigation was opened.

As far as is known, an unknown person came to the balcony of the Arab apartment and fired 4-5 bullets from which the elderly woman who lives in her daughter's apartment was hit.
The family believes that the pills were intended for the granddaughter's friend who was not at home at all.
"The situation is a catastrophe. It's getting very bad here. There were criminals in the neighborhood in the past too, but they showed respect," said her daughter, "Today every child has a gun and no one is counted. I myself am afraid to go home alone when I arrive late. So where are the police? Where is the intelligence?" Theirs? It needs to be called out. My mother is a sick woman, now she is traumatized. This is the last thing she needed."
