A small plane crashed after falling on high-voltage power lines north of the US capital, Washington, causing a major power outage in the region.
Reuters quoted the Fire and Rescue Authority in Montgomery County, Maryland, as saying: The plane crashed yesterday in foggy and humid weather on high-voltage lines in the village of Montgomery, 30 miles north of the capital, and got stuck in live power lines, causing power outages ranging from 85 thousand and 90 thousand people.
And the Pipco Utilities Company in Washington indicated that the roads were closed due to the stoppage of many traffic lights in the region, while the devices continue to work to save the people on board the plane that is still hanging in the wires.
