First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, discussed with the Syrian ambassador in Baghdad, Satam Jadaan Al-Dandah, ways to develop cooperation between the two countries at all levels, especially the parliamentary field.
Ambassador Al-Dandah said in a statement to SANA correspondent in Baghdad: The two sides affirmed during the meeting their aspiration to develop bilateral cooperation to better levels in the parliamentary field, activate joint parliamentary committees and coordinate positions in regional, Arab and international parliamentary forums for the interest of the two brotherly peoples.
Al-Dandah explained that the two sides also expressed their desire to enhance cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, health, and to improve security cooperation and combat terrorism that threatens the security and stability of the two countries, pointing out that the meeting focused on facilitating the passage of Syrian goods trucks, especially citrus fruits, to all Iraqi governorates, in addition to encouraging the establishment of investment projects. for the development of the two countries.
For his part, a statement by the Presidency of the Iraqi Council of Representatives stated that Al-Mandalawi stressed during the meeting the importance of activating the activity of the parliamentary friendship committees between the two countries and strengthening and developing bilateral relations to include many areas, foremost of which is economic, cultural, security and commercial cooperation. He also called for the need for joint coordination in the field of combating terrorism, including It enhances the security of the two countries and the stability of the region.
