Among the samples received by the Public Health Laboratory Service of the Department of Health from November 19th to 25th for verification tests of local cases, the Omicron mutant virus strain BA.2.12.1 and BA.4/BA.5 substrains (including suspected cases ) accounted for 0% and about 74.5% (seven-day moving average proportion) respectively.
The proportion of BA.5 substrain cases continued to decline, which also represented an increase in the number of new variant virus cases.
However, no new mutant virus variants have been found in local cases in Hong Kong so far. A total of 80 XBB, 16 XBD, 1 BA.2.75.2, 2 BF.7 and 102 BQ.1.1 sublineage cases have been found.
