Around the Neufahrner Christkindlmarkt: colorful stalls, lots of music and even more cribs

There was a lot to see between and in the booths of the Neufahrn Christmas market.

Christmas market and nativity scene trail – the municipality of Neufahrn started the Advent season with two pre-Christmas events at the weekend.

Neufahrn –

Three days – better: evenings – for a long time the Neufahrn market square was characterized by small stalls decorated with fir branches and fairy lights, the smell of mulled wine was omnipresent when strolling, animated Christmas accessories and other nice things for sale.

Food was also provided at the Ukrainian women's stand, where varenyky (mouth swapping) and other delicacies tempted.

If you wanted to do good, you were in the right place at the booth of the animal protection association or at the Marc Bosch railway system (we reported).

And it was always worth gathering in front of the stage to listen to the Giggenhausen men's choir, the flute children or a wind ensemble.

These ladies offered Ukrainian specialties.

The performances by Anna and Oleksandra with Ukrainian Christmas carols on the one hand and Oliver Schott's gospel choir on the other showed how broad the palette was here, contemplative and thoughtful there, rousingly lively there.

In addition, a small but fine violin ensemble from the music school Neufahrn-Hallbergmoos and Christmas carols with Brigitte and Melanie.

Other items on the program were planned for the youngsters: from fairy tale hours and handicrafts to a visit from St. Nicholas and – not quite as Christmassy – from the clown Toni Toss.

The crib path is still accessible until Christmas Eve

Anyone who visited the Christkindlmarkt on foot and with open eyes could already get into the Christmas spirit on the way: Because on and around the market square, the Neufahrn local history association was able to persuade many businesses and shops to put cribs in their shop windows .

A total of 48 such cribs - from very small to very large - make up the Neufahrner Crib Trail this year, giving an impressive and lasting impression of the diversity of the crib landscape in the world - between Orient and South America, between FFP2 masks and ghettos, between Bolivian plateau and a snowy foothills of the Alps.

And while the 2022 Christmas market is history again, the lovingly designed nativity scene path will guide the Neufahrner even further until Christmas Eve.
