The driver's license exchange in Munich presents him with enormous problems.
A man shares his suffering via Twitter.
Munich - "This is the paper application for the exchange of an old gray driver's license." For his Twitter post, the man chooses a supposedly boring start.
What monster he is dealing with only becomes clear to the viewer when looking at the picture provided.
Munich: Man desperate for driver's license exchange – "Please print and fax to the responsible office"
A whopping 13 pages of printouts are neatly lined up on the parquet floor.
The request from the Munich resident, which was certainly not meant to be taken seriously: "Can someone please print out the photo and fax it to the responsible office?" What makes the bureaucracy madness necessary?
The man needs a new driver's license card.
Because the Bavarian state capital also applies: "By January 19, 2033 at the latest, all driving licenses issued up to January 18, 2013 must be exchanged for a card driving license limited to 15 years." To ensure that the exchange of documents is as regulated as possible, a graduated regulation was established.
This stipulates that first it is the turn of holders of the gray and pink driver's licenses - staggered according to their year of birth.
Exchange driver's license online: model project is running
It is now the turn of Twitter user
superpoehl
– and apparently feels little joy in fulfilling his civic duty.
The corresponding application is "unfortunately not only in Munich" a very complex matter.
However, there is hope for others affected.
In the districts of Aschaffenburg and Munich as well as the city of Fürth, the old driver's license can be exchanged much more conveniently as part of an online project.
And other districts and urban districts are to follow soon...

For another Munich driver, the driver's license exchange did not go so smoothly.
The KVR had forgotten him for months.
